This is the 15th annual fundraising event where ENLACE & Guelaguetza Intercultural Latino Partnership Program celebrates the colaborative work done during the actual year with individuals, leaders, community, organizations, schools, churches, cities and government agencies. We also recognize the work on projects and level of impact that our local Latino community has been done to improve the lifestyle in Salem community.
The agenda for this year event is divided intof different Latino traditions
3:00 PM KERMEZ (art and traditional food sale) Traditional fundraising event in collaboration with artist and businesses. During this time, we will have two manual art workshops: Dia de los muertos by Corazon Utilitarian and Mini piñatas Decoration by ENLACE, we include tables to create art for children’s and youth. During this time also we include community informational booths and dances and performances from guest artists.
4:00 PM Traditional LOTERIA game (Mexican bingo). Learning about neighborhoods and city of Salem structure through adapted to a table game.
5:00 PM Dia de los Muertos tradition and Altar Demonstration by Northgate Neighbors from Michoacan Mexico and the Aztec dances program from Salem. Dances related to the tradition are presented during this time.
6:00 PM Quinceañera tradition Demonstration and the traditional waltz dance performance
During the day we will have dances from Guelaguetza Latino Folkloric Dance Program and music from Los Colores de America Orchestra and Rondalla Sentimiento Latino
