Rondalla Sentimiento Latino Traditional Guitar Ensemble

Sentimiento Latino is a music program directed by Ivan Aguilar, director of ENLACE’s music department. A recent graduate of the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, Ivan holds a bachelor’s degree in music.

For 27 years, Sentimiento Latino has provided youth, adults, and seniors in the community with opportunities to learn guitar while exploring and promoting the diversity of traditional and contemporary Latino music from Mexico and throughout Latin America. The ensemble also shares this music with the wider community through performances at festivals and cultural events across several counties in Oregon.

Rondalla Sentimiento Latino typically performs with four to six members, although some performances may include up to ten musicians. The ensemble primarily features guitars, bass, and keyboard, with additional instruments, such as drums, included when appropriate. The number of musicians and selection of instruments may vary depending on the type of event, available space, and sound equipment.
